Standing Seam Metal
The longest-lived assembly we install. Higher first cost, near-zero membrane maintenance, and a service life that outlasts most ownership horizons on the buildings we work on.
Composition
24 or 22 gauge steel, or 0.032 aluminum, in concealed-clip standing seam panels over purlins or a solid deck with a high-temperature underlayment.
Thickness options
24 gauge standard, 22 gauge on spans over five feet or high-uplift zones.
Seam method
Mechanically double-locked 180 degree seam, field-seamed with a powered seamer. Clips allow thermal movement along the panel run.
Expected service life
40 to 50 years on the panel, with the coating finish typically the first thing to age.
Specification note
Slope governs. Below a 1:12 pitch we will not warrant a standing seam assembly and will recommend a single-ply or modified bitumen system instead.
